About the Role

Working within the Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ) Fundraising team, this role is responsible for supporting the WMQ fundraising program, with a focus on developing, building and managing all community engagement opportunities.
The Specialist - Community Engagement role will focus on developing and executing strategies to connect community stakeholders with the various services within WMQ. This will result in the achievement of fundraising revenue budgets and long term mutually beneficial relationships that will drive the expansion of fundraising capabilities of WMQ across Queensland.
Key Role Accountabilities:

- Contribute to the community engagement strategy and commit to growing income whilst nurturing current relationships.
- Achieve target fundraising revenue from new and existing sources within your area of responsibility through community encouragement.
- Demonstrated regular contribution and active support for other Fundraising Team members to achieve department fundraising revenue target KPI’s.
- Identify and qualify, new and profitable community fundraising and engagement opportunities for WMQ across all divisions.
- Regular reporting to the Manager – Fundraising regarding community engagement progress, including recommendations for pipeline opportunities.
- Follow up on inactive or lost fundraisers and provide feedback to management with strategies for improvement / reactivation or growth as appropriate.
- Increase income and steward existing community fundraisers.
- Develop and maintain current information on all existing community fundraisers.
- Support current marketing, fundraising and event campaign delivery to respond knowledgeably to opportunities and enquiries and assist team meet deadlines and targets.
- Attend networking events on a regular basis to increase awareness of WMQ and create new opportunities and supporters for WMQ.
- Work with Fundraising Team to continually update current Customer Relationship Management systems with profiles for existing, prospective and emerging prospects of funding streams.
- Provision of administrative support including reporting and acquittal, income coding, acknowledgement, analysis and partner plans.
- Develop specialist knowledge of target revenue and funding segments.
- Deliver best practice funder stewardship by engaging with government and private funders to establish positive relationships, profile WMQ and its strategic objectives.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager – Fundraising.
About You
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to connecting the community to the mission and vision of WMQ.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a community fundraising and/or engagement role. Relevant experience within a Not-for-Profit setting highly preferred.
- A proven track record of achieving financial targets and objectives in fundraising.
- Proven ability to project manages to meet deadlines and progress milestones.
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including strong networking and influencing skills with the ability to effectively lead and manage diverse internal and external stakeholder requirements.
- Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently in addition to operating as a highly effective member in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the organisation and campaign objectives.
