What we do
The Women’s Housing Company (WHC) Limited is a registered charity and Tier 1 Community Housing Provider managing over 1200 properties providing housing, accommodation and support services for women and children across Sydney, the Hunter and Coffs Harbour.
At WHC we provide housing and homelessness services to single women and women with children in NSW.
Last year, we housed almost 1,700 women and children, as well as supported over 300 homeless women. We have a particular focus on addressing the housing needs of older women, women with children, and women who have experienced domestic and family violence.

About the role
The Technology Project Manager oversees and delivers technology-driven projects that support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency and is responsible for project planning, executing, and finalising technology projects according to WHC Project Governance Framework, strict deadlines and within budget. This includes managing resources, coordinating efforts of team members and third-party contractors, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals and technology strategies.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Governance:
- Leading Project Governance and Reporting under the WHC Project Governance Framework, including preparing and presenting Steering Committee Reports, according to Project Milestones, Issues, Risks, Budget and Deadlines.
- Leading, managing, and reporting on Projects under the Project Management Plans with tools for monitoring scope, schedule, budget, and quality including the use of Project Management Software, KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews.
- Establishment of Project Teams, including roles and responsibilities.
- Ensuring project documentation is maintained across all project elements and is reviewed and signed off according to the Project Governance Framework.
- Project Charter: Establish a Project Charter for each project.
- Project Planning:
- Project Schedule & Milestones: Develop a comprehensive project plan that outlines key milestones, timelines, and dependencies, ensuring the ERP implementation stays on track.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks (e.g., scope creep, resource constraints, data integration issues) and develop mitigation plans.
- Resource Allocation: Identify required resources (both internal and external) and ensure the appropriate skill sets are available for project tasks.
- Stakeholder Communication: Develop a stakeholder communication plan, ensuring regular updates to key stakeholders (e.g., executive team, end-users, IT teams) about the project's status.
- Implementation & Delivery

- Kick-off & Coordination:
- Lead Technology Transformation kick-off meeting with the vendor and internal teams to ensure alignment of project goals, timelines, and responsibilities.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Regularly monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
- Address any deviations from the plan promptly, coordinating with vendors and internal teams as necessary.
- Quality Assurance & Testing:
- Oversee and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system integrations, and data migration activities.
- Ensure thorough testing to verify that the ERP system meets business requirements and operates smoothly.
- Change Management
- Support change management efforts, ensuring that users understand and are prepared to adopt the new technology or systems with an effective communication campaign.
- Prepare a Training Plan:
- Work with the vendor and internal teams to design and implement a training program for end-users.
- Arrange role-based training (Assets, Tenancy, Finance, HR) with the Vendor
- Ensure capability and communication to staff on the post-go-live support desk
- Post-Implementation Support & Project Closure
- Go-Live & Support:
- Manage the go-live process, ensuring a smooth transition to the new ERP system, with support from the vendor as needed.
- Monitor system performance post-implementation, ensuring that any issues are addressed quickly.
- Project Closure:
- Ensure that all project deliverables are met, and the project is formally closed.
- Capture lessons learned, document the project’s success, and identify areas for future improvement.
- Post-Implementation Review:
- Conduct a review meeting with stakeholders to evaluate project success and assess whether the ERP system is delivering the expected benefits.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge
Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Project Management Expertise: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, including familiarity with methodologies like Agile or Waterfall and experience in using project management tools such as Trello, Microsoft Project, JIRA.
- ERP Knowledge: A deep understanding of ERP systems, including various vendors and products (e.g., Housing)
- Software, such as Civica, Zavanti and Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central). Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, from end-users to executives.
- Budget & Resource Management: Proficiency in managing large-scale projects with significant budgets and resource requirements.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to manage risks, solve complex problems, and navigate challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Vendor Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with third-party vendors, including negotiating contracts and managing expectations.
- Willingness to undergo / possess a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
- Driver’s license.
