What we do

The Women’s Housing Company (WHC) Limited is a registered charity and Tier 1 Community Housing Provider managing over 1200 properties providing housing, accommodation and support services for women and children across Sydney, the Hunter and Coffs Harbour.

At WHC we provide housing and homelessness services to single women and women with children in NSW.

Last year, we housed almost 1,700 women and children, as well as supported over 300 homeless women. We have a particular focus on addressing the housing needs of older women, women with children, and women who have experienced domestic and family violence.

About the role

We have a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Tenancy Manger to join our team. The tenancy manager is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in relation to tenancy management for an allocated portfolio of properties in accordance with relevant legislative and contractual requirements and within the guidelines of the Women’s Housing Company (WHC) policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide consistent high-quality tenancy management services to enable tenants to sustain their tenancies and support the provision of quality homes in the portfolio.
  • Ensure the portfolio meets its financial goals and KPI targets through the effective management of tenancy inspections, rent and non-rent arrears and former tenant debt, property viewings and lease signings to support the void and vacancy programs.
  • Support the Tenancy Services team to meet its compliance and legislative obligations by ensuring the timely and accurate recording of tenant information in the IT system(s) and maintaining strict adherence to operational and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Managing breach of tenancy issues, as well as representing Women’s Housing at NCAT.
  • Maintain high levels of tenant satisfaction by ensuring the timely response to tenant enquiries, complaints and grievances and encourage participation in tenant feedback and survey opportunities.
  • Support the business to enhance community development and tenant engagement programs by promoting and supporting the implementation of relevant programs with tenants.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge

  • Social Work Degree and/or Certificate IV in Social Housing, or equivalent.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable people experiencing homelessness, rough sleepers, people experiencing domestic and family violence and mental health issues
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in tenancy management and/or case management
  • Thorough knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and social housing policy and framework
  • Intermediate skills in all Microsoft Office 2010 applications
  • Understanding of social support service system
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate
  • Full unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Willingness to undergo / possess a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Driver’s license
