About the role

The Tenant Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting WHC’s commitment to tenant participation and improving wellbeing and tenancy sustainment. This includes organising and facilitating experiences that creates a sense of connection to community.

We are looking for a Tenant Engagement Coordinator for a temporary period of 10 months, on a part time basis of 3 days per week.

$48,223.78 incl super plus salary sacrifice (3 days p/w for 10 months).

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the WHC to achieve its community and tenant engagement goals by implementing tenant engagement strategies to enhance social inclusion, and support tenants to improve wellbeing and tenancy sustainment.
  • Assist the Community Development Manager in delivering projects with community partners to foster social inclusion through initiatives to enhance community gardens, communal spaces, and community rooms.
  • Enhance tenant engagement and participation programs through relevant marketing, communication, and tenant advisory groups, with consideration to language, education, location and technology barriers.
  • Support the improvement of quality service delivery by creating opportunities for tenant consultation and feedback
  • Support the Housing Services team meet its compliance and legislative obligations by ensuring the timely and accurate recording of tenant information in the IT system(s) and maintaining strict adherence to workplace policies and procedures.

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in community services, social work, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community development, engagement, or tenant participation roles.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures.
  • Knowledge of community development principles: empowerment, inclusion, diversity, collaboration, participation, transparency, and trust.
  • Proficient in community development tools, including surveys, terms of reference, and event planning.
  • Skilled in engaging with vulnerable community members, building trust, and responding effectively within organisational policies.
  • Trained and/or knowledge of trauma-informed practices particularly with women who have experienced domestic and family violence.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with empathetic listening.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010, Canva, and Campaign Monitor.
  • NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • Mandatory National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check
  • Being female is a genuine occupational requirement - Section 31 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
