Call For Nominations - Wildcare Tasmania Board Memberships x3 (Voluntary)

Wildcare Tasmania

Wildcare Tasmania is seeking expressions of interest from individuals with the skills, experience, and commitment to contribute to the governance of a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation dedicated to community-driven, volunteer-led conservation.

Through the collective efforts of our passionate volunteers, donors, Board, committee members, and staff, Wildcare delivers some of the most genuinely impactful conservation outcomes in Tasmania.

As a Board member, you will play a key role in guiding Wildcare Tasmania’s purpose —supporting communities and volunteers to contribute to conservation actions that ensure the long-term protection of Tasmania’s natural environment.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Wildcare’s soon-to-be-released strategic plan, shaping the future of our organisation and amplifying its impact.

Board Vacancies

Wildcare Tasmania is seeking nominations to fill three (3) vacancies on its Board. Individuals with a strong alignment with Wildcare’s purpose and expertise in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Not-for-profit law and governance
  • Developing strategic organisational partnerships
  • Revenue growth and ethical fundraising
  • Contemporary governance, leadership, and risk management
  • Financial management and oversight
  • Community engagement and stakeholder relations
  • Environmental volunteer management, particularly knowledge of or experience with Wildcare volunteer groups

Board Commitment

Board positions are voluntary, with some reimbursement of expenses available on request. The Board meets five (5) times per year, comprising three (3) online meetings and two (2) face-to-face meetings—one in Hobart and one in Launceston. Meetings typically last approximately five hours. Board members are expected to prepare for and actively participate in these meetings and as well as contribute to the Board’s broader work program, including working groups and strategic initiatives.

Eligibility

To be eligible for election to the Wildcare Tasmania Board, nominees must:

  • Be a current member of Wildcare Tasmania
  • Not be disqualified from managing a corporation or from being a responsible entity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012
