About Us

Wildflower Play Therapy is an established Play Therapy private practice located in Hindmarsh, South Australia, in close proximity to the Adelaide CBD. At Wildflower Play Therapy, we are dedicated to understanding each family’s unique situation and finding an integrative therapeutic approach tailored to suit the cultural background, needs and strengths of each child and family.

As a team of Play Therapists, we provide high quality therapy supported by post-graduate training, ongoing professional development, supervision and teamwork in a supportive and nurturing workplace environment.

Contractor Requirements

  • Masters of Child Play Therapy* from a tertiary institution in addition to a relevant undergraduate degree (e.g. Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Disability Support). *Students who have completed their Humanistic placement are encouraged to contact us.
  • Registered with APPTA and/or PACFA (provisional registration is acceptable) and fulfil all ethical and professional standards in accordance with membership.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Able to self-manage client load demands, including weekly Play Therapy sessions, parent review meetings, report writing, case conferences, and alike.
  • Detailed and timely note keeping; upholding best practice, in-depth case analysis, self-reflection, and legal subpoena.
  • Ability to communicate in a highly professional and respectful manner with families/carers and support services, with a focus on working systemically to impact change within all areas of a child’s life.
  • Uphold a high standard of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Uphold Wildflower Play Therapy’s vision and ethos of creating a team of Play Therapists providing high-quality, holistic supports, tailored to each child and family’s needs.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • High standard of personal ethics and committed to professional development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • At least two years’ experience working therapeutically with children and families.
  • Trained in parenting programs such as Circle of Security.
  • Familiar with Splose appointment keeping software or similar.

Contractor Responsibilities

  • Hold or willing to obtain own ABN.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Have or willing to obtain own public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Organise and participate in regular supervision with a registered Play Therapy supervisor.
