Job Description

The Manager is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to re-establish WILMA. Working under the guidance of the Board, the role involves developing and implementing funding strategies, recruiting and managing staff, building partnerships, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Strategic re-establishment of WILMA’s services and operations.
  • Applying for grants and other funding opportunities to secure financial sustainability.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and managing a dedicated team.
  • Developing referral pathways, fostering community and professional networks, and promoting WILMA’s services.
  • Overseeing financial management, risk management, service promotion, and public accountability.
  • Ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.

WILMA is a women-only safe haven offering support to the women of Macarthur through education, information and referral pathways, and other services that will foster their individual wellbeing and choice.

SELECTION CRITERIA – ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in a Not for Profit community setting.
  • Proven track record in securing funding through grants, sponsorships, or other fundraising initiatives.

Commitment to Women’s Wellbeing:

  • Knowledge of issues that impact women and service delivery within a feminist framework.
  • Dedication to advancing women’s wellbeing, education, and status.

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Strong experience in service development, human resources, and policy implementation.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and lead a remote and in-person team effectively.

Community Engagement:

  • Understanding of community development and health promotion strategies for disadvantaged communities.

Networking and Collaboration:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with community organisations, government stakeholders, and external partners.

Financial Acumen:

  • Experience in budget management, financial oversight, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including social media proficiency.

Tech Literacy:

  • Proficient in online collaboration tools and systems necessary for remote operations.

Other Requirements:

  • Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work remotely while maintaining a high level of organisation and accountability.
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
