Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified, experienced Accountant who can demonstrate capability in a service provision environment. You will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial systems, supporting the finance team, providing the Board and senior management team with high level reporting and analysis of all Windarring business units. You will also form part of a team identifying and analysing opportunities and supporting operational and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion Windarring’s values
- Lead the finance and payroll team to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
- Enhance Windarring’s relationships with stakeholders.
- Prepare financial reports and recommendations for the CEO, Board and Finance and Audit Committee
- Ensure compliance with governmental and other funding bodies, through timely lodgements of reports and adherence to accounting standards.
- Lead the development of organisational and business unit budgets.
- Liaise with senior managers and business units on progress towards financial targets.
- Manage Windarring’s finance-related software systems.
- Promote a culture that promotes learning, development, job satisfaction, respect, consultation and communication.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- CPA or CA preferred
- Experience working in not-for-profit sector
- Degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Demonstrated experience in an accounting role.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective time management skills
- Advanced proficiency in a range of financial, budgeting, forecasting systems.
- Some knowledge of payroll processes would be an advantage.
- Well-developed people management skills
- As an NDIS-funded provider, Windarring requires employees to have a current Victorian/Australian driver’s licence, COVID vaccinations, right to work in Australia, police check, Working with Children Check and an NDIS Worker Screening check.
- A lived experience of disability would be viewed favourably.
