We work with the most disadvantaged in our community by providing over 200 services ranging from aged care, homeless services, child and family care, counselling, employment, training and education, and health services.

About the role

The primary function of this role is to assist young people in our Supported Independent Living Program (SIL) and Take Charge of Your Life secure and maintain employment.

Essential criteria

  • experience working with young people (15-25 years)
  • degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology or related discipline including Youth Work
  • experience in Out-of-Home Care
  • demonstrated understanding of employment and educational pathways for young people
  • current unrestricted driver’s licence and use of a comprehensively insured motor vehicle
  • ability to communicate effectively and work independently and as part of a team
  • demonstrated ability to liaise, network and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • ability to relate empathetically to the needs of disadvantaged people and those operating in crisis.

Desirable criteria

  • experience working in Out of Home Care particularly with young people transitioning out of care
  • experience in teaching or assisting young people in employment focused role.

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 5.

Salary packaging benefits + mileage reimbursement also apply.
