Since 1995 Wesley Lifeforce Suicide Prevention Networks (Networks) have been reducing suicide by engaging, empowering and encouraging local communities to deliver bespoke Suicide Prevention programs. Lifeforce harnesses community diversity to co-design and pilot innovative ways to solve Suicide and its causes. In community, through community, with community.

About the role

The Lifeforce Networks National Program Manager is responsible for leading the strategy and delivery of the Lifeforce Suicide Prevention program.

You will travel nationally several times each month to collaborate with government and industry stakeholders, work with university partners in data collection and analysis, and make a difference by reducing the impact of suicide on communities across Australia.

To succeed you will have a demonstrated history delivering large complex programs, you will be known for your “can do” attitude and have a passion to reduce suicide and its impacts. You have strong business acumen, knowing your passion for performance is having an impact on people across the street, across town and across the country.

You will be known as a “Cheer Leader” not a “Fear Leader”.

Internally you will support Suicide Prevention Coordinators in every state and territory, collecting and reporting on data and performance, coaching and mentoring staff to expand the programs reach, and sharing innovation with leaders from 135 communities.

Externally you will engage with state and federal leaders, funding bodies and industry stakeholders – promoting partnerships and collaboration’s while meeting industry and contractual expectations.

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Leadership, Health, Business or Social Services
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a large team deliver services across a multi-site footprint
  • Demonstrated experience in financial and data collection and analysis
  • Proven ability to easily build rapport with a diverse range of people
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while meeting financial and engagement targets

Desirable criteria

  • Qualifications in Suicide Prevention or Mental Health.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting government reports and tender applications
  • Experience working with vulnerable population groups including those with an increased risk of suicide or poor mental health
  • High level public presentation skills
