About the program and role

Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) is for people whose living situation has recently changed, or is about to change, because of intimate partner violence. EVP provides individualised financial packages of up to $5,000 and support to assist in setting up a home that is free from violence.

The Team Leader:

  • Will work mainly autonomously and under limited direction from more senior employees or management
  • Is responsible for ensuring the team is contractually compliant, working within Wesley Mission quality, risk and compliance framework and financially sustainable
  • Will balance the divergent aspects of the program – pace (client payments are delivered within timeframe), client safety and support, and consistency in practice
  • May draw upon their expertise to exercise decision-making and support employees at lower managerial level
  • Will ensure the EVP teams develop and maintain positive and supportive working relationships in a harmonious and autonomous-supportive work environment where they are trained to be the best in their field.

We are looking for a Team Leader who is conscientious, reliable, motivated and committed to making a real difference. The EVP Team Leader role is a specialist Domestic & Family Violence position. You will be supervising and leading our South-West Sydney team to ensure delivery of a safe and responsive service, providing financial packages and referrals to a range of wrap-around supports as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree qualified with substantive experience in Domestic and Family Violence setting
  • Solid experience working within a trauma informed, client-centred framework
  • Ability to coach/mentor team members through training in processes and computer systems
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to maintain good communication with different internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience with proven results in:
    • Staff supervision
    • Partnership development with local services and DFV networks
    • Identifying and streamlining processes that would aid with efficiency and productivity
  • Cultural competence and experience working alongside Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people and First Nations families.
  • Commitment to working 3 days each week (minimum) in office.
  • Current NSW or National driver’s licence.
  • Working with Children’s Check & criminal record history check.

Desirable Criteria

  • Connection with FDV peak bodies and networks.
  • Knowledge in program budgeting.
  • Good understanding of processes and systems that supports the day-to-day functioning of the EVP team.
