  • Help newly arrived young people engage in education, employment & community.
  • Part-time role with flexibility to work 4 days or shorter days across 5 days.
  • SCHADS Level 4 + superannuation + access to salary packaging benefits.

Your New role

Our Reconnect Early Intervention Program helps young people who have been in Australia for less than five years engage in their education, training, and employment.

In this role, you will provide individual and family support and case management to stabilise living situations and improve a young person’s connection with culture, family and community life.

You will use your community connections to undertake outreach and group work, facilitate referrals to specialist services, and advocate for participants, making a tangible impact on their journey toward stability and opportunity.

Benefits of working at Uniting

The role is part-time (0.8 FTE), with a maximum term of 30 June 2026. We are flexible on days, except for Tuesday, when we all get together in the office. We’d also consider shorter hours across five days if that works better for you.

In addition to a base salary of SCHADS Level 4 + super, you’ll also receive 17.5% leave loading, and can access the following:

  • Up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits that can be used for living expenses such as groceries, bills, clothing and streaming services.
  • Increase your annual leave entitlements through our purchase leave program.
  • Up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers (4 for secondary).
  • Access training and development opportunities to help you grow.
  • Opt in or out of public holidays and be respected for your unique background.
  • Receive a 10% discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee at Uniting Early Learning.

Your skills and experience

You understand the importance of early intervention case management and the complex challenges faced by newly arrived families of minority communities.

You will also bring with you:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, or a related discipline such as a Certificate III or Diploma in Community Services.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and communities, including newly arrived individuals.
  • Ability to conduct strength-based assessments, develop intervention plans, community outreach and group work.
  • Proven skills in delivering effective case management for young people and families.
  • A current Working with Children Check and Drivers Licence valid in Victoria.
