Your new role

You will play a key role in helping us consistently and authentically celebrate diversity and welcome all people regardless of ethnicity, faith, age, disability, culture, language, gender identity, sex, or sexual orientation.

You will be part of a small team whose purpose is to build organisational capacity to foster equity and inclusion for staff, volunteers, and consumers from minoritised communities.

It’s a great opportunity to be part of the development and implementation of Uniting’s first whole-of-organisation Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy that will build up and out from our existing action plans for specific minoritised communities (LGBTIQA+, culturally and linguistically diverse, refugee and asylum seekers, disability).

The position is part-time, 4 days per week to December 2026. We believe in flexibility and currently work a combination of office-based time and work-from-home days. Our office in Lonsdale Street offers a range of concierge services, great end-of-trip facilities, and events such as free Yoga and well-being sessions.

In addition to your salary of $92-$95K (FTE base) + super, you can access the following:

Your skills and experience

You will bring with you:

  • Proven knowledge and ability in developing and administering diversity, equity and inclusion programs within the health and human services or community services sectors.
  • Proven capacity to influence change in a large and complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage and collaborate with members of minoritised communities and offer authentic allyship.
  • Experience and capability to influence a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to minoritised communities through public advocacy and/or action.
  • Lived experience as a member of one of Uniting priority cohorts is highly desirable: LGBTIQA+, culturally and linguistically diverse, refugee and asylum seeker, people with a disability.
  • Bachelor-level degree in health and human services, community development, or equivalent industry experience
