About the opportunity

Our Youth Residential Services Program delivers high quality care and support within a 24-hour therapeutic residential setting to children and young people who are unable live with their families, kinship carers or foster carers. The program supports vulnerable children and young people who present complex needs and have often experienced past trauma and abuse.

Our 4-bed active model is designed to stabilise young people and empower them to reach their potential in a long-term therapeutic setting. With coaching and support from our Therapeutic Specialists, you will work as part of a dedicated team to provide trauma informed care and maintain a safe and welcoming home environment for young people.

About you

We are seeking compassionate carers that have the ability to make positive connections with young people and enjoy working within a cohesive team dynamic. To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention
  • Or a recognised tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related discipline, plus completion of/willingness to undertake mandatory top up training (4 Trauma Informed Practice Units)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • A current valid driver’s licence
  • A current Working with Children Check (employee status)
  • Previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs in an out of home care setting is preferred
  • Willingness to work on a flexible basis with active night shifts and/or sleepover shifts
