About The Women’s Club
The Women’s Club (TWC) is a member-based cultural club in Sydney founded by Women for Women in 1901. The founders were forceful and influential women of their time. TWC aims to be a safe and convivial space that promotes a culture of learning, shared interests and fellowship among women from all walks of life. It celebrates women and their many-faceted achievements. It attracts women active in the community, the professions, the arts and public life. It is affiliated with similar clubs, both nationally and internationally. It contributes to Sydney’s night-time economy through a public-facing events program, diverse cultural programming, and partnerships including, but not limited to, the Rose Scott Women Writers’ Festival, the Women in Music series, the Women in Wine series, and various other public lectures and social events for the community.
TWC Membership
Our Members gain 24-hour access to a Clubhouse including accommodation, hospitality and dining, meeting rooms and workspaces, social spaces, free passes to Circles and Discussion groups, and subsidised tickets to TWC’s program of events. Members receive reciprocal benefits to an affiliate domestic and international club network and community benefits including parking and gym.
About the Role
As Membership Coordinator, you will form relationships with women from various sectors including business and the arts. This is an outward-facing role responsible for implementing the membership strategy, focusing on recruiting new members, through end-to-end development, planning, organisation and delivery of a broad range of member-focused activities. The Membership Coordinator reports to the CEO, and will facilitate membership processing, coordinate events and provide administrative support for membership campaigns. This position has a high level of autonomy, and collaboration, providing diverse opportunities to develop skills in marketing, communications, business development, and event/project management.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will be professional and personable, interested in the arts and enjoy meeting and forming strong relationships with well-established women. You will demonstrate maturity and self-awareness and have strong communication skills. This role would suit an individual with experience with admin, customer service, business development, membership, fundraising, events or marketing, ideally within the arts or not-for-profit sector.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Promote the services of The Women’s Club both internally and externally to enhance member retention and acquisition.
- Manage and service other stakeholders such as regional members, corporate sponsors and guest speakers
- Design and champion new and existing initiatives to ensure internal engagement and drive member acquisition.
- Assist with the development and own execution of the member engagement strategy and plan.
- In collaboration with the CEO, achieve membership goals and priorities by identifying and recruiting partner organisations and strategic allies.
- Support the coordination of the events program including event planning, managing invitations and RSVPs, and coordinating the delivery of marketing and communications for events.
- Act as the first point of contact for all Membership enquiries, and assist with onboarding new members.
- Coordinate Membership administration, including payments, sales and renewals processing, benefits implementation, receipts and acknowledgement letters.
- Maintain and manage the Membership CRM database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records, and working closely with Finance on processing new and renewing Memberships.
- Prepare information for the CEO including collating data, analysis on membership trends, insights and demographics.
- Collaborate with the Communications and Digital Coordinator, and monitor all Membership touchpoints/channels for consistency including website, social media and mailers
- Coordinate the planning delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive revenue across member services and events.
- Raise the profile of The Women’s Club internally and externally.
- Develop and foster relationships with external stakeholders to secure reciprocal benefits for members.
- Other general administrative support as required.
Essential attributes
To be successful you will have:
- Previous experience within a stakeholder engagement or similar role;
- Approachable personality with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
- A love for working with people and building genuine connections;
- Display experience in database management and analysis;
- A background in or appreciation for arts and culture would be a benefit to help align you with The women’s Club and their purpose
- Demonstrated experience working independently, collaboratively, and as part of a small team.
- Have medium to strong computer literacy across a range of systems and platforms including CRM software, Mailchimp, Canva, Word, Excel, Teams, Zoom, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
- Flexibility to work after hours and at weekends as required.
