Our head office is located on unceded Jagera and Turrbal Land in South Brisbane, with many of our services spanning across the entire state.

ABOUT THE ROLE OF WOMEN'S WELLBEING LINE TEAM LEAD

Work location: On-site at our South Brisbane office

Classification: Social, Community, Homecare & Disability Services (SCHADS) Industrial Award 2010

Remuneration: SCHADS Award Level 6 beginning at $106,300 per annum pro rata plus salary sacrificing up to $15,900

Working hours: 0.6 FTE contract (3-4 shifts per week)

  • Monday-Tuesday afternoon (2:45pm-8:15pm)
  • Wednesday morning (7:45am-3:00pm)
  • Every second Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm.

Work location: On-site at our South Brisbane office

Overview of responsibilities:

This leadership role provides clinical oversight and operational support for a specialist counselling service dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and gender-diverse people. This is a new service designed to be accessible, gender-responsive, and healing-centred. The Women’s Wellbeing Line offers up to 10 free sessions per client with the same counsellor, via phone, video, and/or chat.

As a Women’s Wellbeing Line Team Lead, you will:

  • Supervise and support a team of counsellors and midwives, ensuring best-practice service delivery and clinical decision-making.
  • Co-lead continuous learning and improvement of the service, contributing to the ongoing development of the service, best-practice counselling frameworks, staff training, evaluation, and service quality initiatives.
  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed counselling via phone, video, and chat, supporting participants experiencing mental health challenges, grief and loss, and the impacts of domestic, family, and sexual violence.
  • Collaborate for participant outcomes by working closely with internal teams and external services to provide warm, effective referrals and supports when necessary.
  • Support participant wellbeing and recovery by conducting health and risk assessments and developing individualised care plans aligned with each participants’ unique health and wellbeing needs, and providing warm referrals where necessary.
  • Undertake risk assessments and escalate clinical risks following organisational procedures.

This is an office-based role in South Brisbane, working within a multidisciplinary team of midwives and counsellors. Each counsellor has a set roster with shifts that include morning, evening and/or Saturday hours to ensure accessibility for participants.

ABOUT YOU

You are a skilled and compassionate leader dedicated to fostering a positive workplace culture and delivering high-quality trauma-informed care.

  • Experienced leader: You have experience supervising or managing teams in a counselling or related setting.
  • Trauma-informed and healing-centred: You have a deep understanding of trauma, mental health, and domestic, family, and sexual violence, and provide responsive, empowering support.
  • Collaborative and adaptable: You excel in a leadership role, fostering a supportive team environment where members feel empowered. You proactively guide your team, ensuring effective collaboration with participants and colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced: You have professional qualifications in counselling, social work, or psychology, with at least four years of experience supporting vulnerable client groups.
  • Culturally responsive: You are committed to inclusive practice, particularly in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people with disabilities.
  • Purpose-driven: WHEQ’s purpose resonates with you, and you are passionate about women’s health and wellbeing and systems change.
