Women’s Health Tasmania (WHT) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive impactful change in women’s health services across the state. If you're a dynamic, strategic leader passionate about empowering women and advancing gender equality, this is your chance to make a meaningful difference. 

About the role 

As CEO, you’ll lead a dynamic not-for-profit organisation committed to equity, choice, and influence through an intersectional feminist lens. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of women's health services, ensure organisational growth, and inspire a passionate multidisciplinary team. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Strategic leadership: Provide vision and direction, aligning all activities with WHT’s mission and values. 
  • Team leadership: Inspire and lead a diverse team in a culture of inclusivity, high performance, and collaboration. 
  • Impact and influence: Represent WHT at local, state, and national forums to drive change and impact in women’s health. 
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build and nurture relationships with key partners in government, business, and the broader community. 
  • Operational oversight: Ensure effective, compliant day-to-day operations while driving efficiency and achieving organisational goals. 
  • Emotional intelligence and communication: Foster a workplace based on trust, empathy, and respect, leading with strong interpersonal skills. 

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Strategic vision: Proven ability to drive performance while staying true to mission-driven values. 
  • Leadership: Adaptive leader with emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate diverse teams. 
  • Stakeholder engagement: Skilled in engaging with diverse groups, building partnerships with sensitivity and professionalism. 
  • Financial expertise: Strong financial management experience, particularly within the not-for-profit sector. 
  • Commitment to Feminist values: Deep understanding of women’s issues in Tasmania and a commitment to intersectional feminism. 
  • Senior Executive experience: Previous leadership experience in a senior role, preferably in the health, community services, or social impact sectors.
