The People and Culture Officer is responsible for supporting every aspect of the employment process and all the functions within People and Culture, particularly in the learning and development space.

This is a permanent part-time position offering 30.4 hours per week. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to choose between working four 7.6-hour days per week, or five shorter days to complete the 30.4 hours

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development and implementation of People and Culture initiatives, policies, processes and systems.
  • Assisting in the coordination of all aspects of the employee lifecycle including the end to end recruitment process, onboarding, performance management, learning and development and offboarding.
  • Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of staff learning and development programs and the implementation of an annual training plan.
  • Work with different stakeholders to assess and address training and development needs to drive a high performance culture.
  • Develop and facilitate, in-house training and off-site sessions and programs and liaise with external training providers.
  • Administer and maintain training records and data and prepare reports to contribute to strategic planning regarding training and development opportunities.
  • Support and coordinate the induction programs.
  • Coordinate traineeship programs and work experience placements.
  • Create and maintain a training needs analysis to identify gaps between current skill, competency levels and required skill levels in consultation with team leaders.
  • Monitor the ongoing progress of employees who are undertaking training courses to ensure they are supported and will successfully complete such courses.
  • Assist in the design and development of career pathways within the organisational structure.
  • Assist in employee and employment relations matters.
  • Maintain relevant people and culture records, information and databases to ensure accuracy and availability of information where required.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture for staff and volunteers which is professional, productive, supportive and consistent with the WLSQ values and feminist principles.
  • Carry out any other tasks as requested within the People and Culture team.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

  • Previous experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • Experience in the development of workshop-based end-user training materials and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic organisational development initiatives including but not limited to employee engagement, skills, culture and capacity building.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and organisation skills.
  • High level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience administering an online Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with training providers, employees and trainees in order to effectively deliver training objectives and learning outcomes for both the individual and the organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with demonstrated capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated a commitment to working for a community organisation within a feminist framework in a manner consistent with the mission, purpose and values of WLSQ.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:

  • This role requires the incumbent to have a clear National Police Check.
  • This role requires to obtain a blue card.
