Finance & Administration Officer - Yeppoon

  • 12 month contract upon commencement but may be extended

Main duties will include:

  • Processing of accounts payables and accounts receivables.
  • Bank accounts & General ledger reconciliations.
  • Assistance with month-end reporting.
  • Assistance with company and project budgets.
  • Maintaining personnel records to meet employee, organisation and statutory requirements and entitlements.
  • End-to-end payroll processing, superannuation and leave entitlements.
  • Assistance with BAS and IAS preparation.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and finance tasks.

General Administration and Operations

  • Maintaining office facilities including the procurement of equipment and supplies.
  • Contribute to drafting and maintenance of internal policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with handling day-to-day administration.
  • Providing administrative support as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Certificate III and/or undergraduate degree in finance, commerce, accounting or similar discipline preferably majoring in accounting, or finance.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ demonstrated experience in similar role.
  • Working proficiency with Xero and intermediate to advanced excel skills.
  • Strong computer skills across Microsoft Suite (Excel, word, teams & outlook)
  • Working with absolute discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative and inclusive and work well in a small team which is committed to a shared purpose.
  • Ability to work independently whilst fostering teamwork and working effectively as a team member in person and virtually.
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-disciplined with excellent time management skills

Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge and experience in finance and payroll operations
  • Knowledge and experience in general administration operations
  • Qualifications and experience in computing, and MS office & financial software
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a small team and independently when necessary
