WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the WHS Commissioner, who is the Territory’s regulator. A planned program of work is currently being implemented to improve our operational efficiency and effectiveness. We have a permanent vacancy for a motivated and highly organised professional to fill the role of Strategy and Policy Officer within our Strategy team. As a Strategy and Policy Officer, you’ll report to the Assistant Director and collaborate closely with colleagues on exciting projects related to Work Health and Safety (WHS), workers’ compensation, licensing, and dangerous substances.
As the Strategy and Policy Officer, you will be reviewing legislation, conducting research, and analysing supporting instruments. You’ll develop and implement regulatory strategies and policy projects, supporting the broader inspectorate and Senior Leadership Team to achieve WorkSafe ACT’s objectives.

A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
