The position

Lead World Vision Australia`s relationship with World Vision Field Offices, overseeing the management of the full portfolio of projects within those offices that are funded through WVA.

The role will require experience in humanitarian operations and stakeholder management to build collaborative relationships across WVA and engage/support a number of external stakeholders to contribute to WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business organisation.

6 Month Max Term Contract (Parental Leave).

Your responsibilities:

  • Strategic engagement with WV Field Offices (FOs) and other implementing partners at the critical phase of a humanitarian response, strategy refreshed time and the project cycle.
  • Ensure the portfolio is fully compliant with donors’ and WV standards and other fiduciary requirements and delivered to the highest quality.
  • Support WVA acquisitions of institutional and non-institutional grants as a key contributor.
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including members from Field Impact, Marketing, Private Funding and Retail, to contribute to the delivery of the Enterprise Business Plan; coordinate engagement with Field Offices and be called on for technical support and support the engagement with institutional donors, partner agencies, corporates, individual supporters, and major donors.
  • Support FOs in responding to humanitarian emergency responses and occasionally lead the WVA side of Category III emergencies for a country outside the FSH portfolio.
  • Potentially, deploy to support a humanitarian response for up to 4 weeks
  • Monitor the humanitarian news in the appointed region(s) and alert relevant stakeholders when the crisis is looming.
  • Support, where relevant to your portfolio, the evolution and implementation of WVA Impact Goals
  • Deliver growth within the portfolio by working with WVA’s Grant Acquisition team and technical advisors to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the portfolio

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with humanitarian, project management, strategic thinking and stakeholder management experience.

You will have:

  • Significant complex grant management experience
  • Experience conducting training, resource development and capacity building
  • Understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations. Knowledge of DFAT and the requirements of the AHP and ANCP Program is helpful
  • Self-managed work experience, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure
  • Understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms, the international humanitarian system, and International Humanitarian Law
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in fragile countries managing humanitarian operations
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include International Relations/International Development, Humanitarian Assistance, legal, or a relevant technical field
  • Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) trained (Preferred)
