Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia (WoSSCA) is a specialist domestic, family and sexual violence service that operates on a feminist framework.

We work to respond and prevent gendered violence in Central Australia by providing safe accommodation and support services for women and children who are experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence.

Our Vision is for all women and children to live with greater safety, respect and dignity, free from violence, in their chosen community.

The successful applicants will provide holistic and strengths-based case management support to women, those who identify as women, and children experiencing family violence, including risk assessment and safety planning.

Positions Available:

  • Outreach Caseworker (Remote Communities) - Level 5 - new funding
    • Provide case management to women and their children living in Ntaria, Yuendumu, Yuelamu, Ti Tree, Papunya, Mt Leibig and Atitjere.
  • Outreach Case worker (Urban) - Level 4 - ongoing
    • Provide case management to women and their children living in Alice Springs.
  • Senior Caseworker - Crisis Accommodation Service - Level 4 - ongoing
    • Provide holistic case work for women and children accessing the Crisis Accommodation Service and support good practice of the Team.
  • Caseworker - Crisis Accommodation Service - Level 3 - ongoing
    • Provide support for women and children accessing the Crisis Accommodation Service.
  • Case Support Worker (Men’s Behaviour Change Program) - Level 3 - ongoing
    • Provide case support to the case workers providing partner contact work alongside the Tangentyere Men's Behaviour Change Program.
  • Co-Responder Victim Survivor Worker - Level 6 - new funding two year contract
    • Provides proactive case work intervention to women and their children experiencing domestic and family violence and sexual violence alongside NT Police, Department of Children and Families and Tangentyere Council

The positions are permanent and available on a full time or part-time basis.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicants will have:

  1. Relevant qualification such as Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification as required for working within the Family Violence sector.
  2. Demonstrated experience within the family violence sector or working with those who have been impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.
  3. Understanding of contemporary family violence practice including the gendered nature of violence, social justice principles, crisis intervention and working with trauma.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging and demanding environment.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a flexible and positive approach.
  7. High level of resilience and self-care practices in place.
