Wunan is seeking a Tutor for our HIPPY program in the East Kimberley.

About the Program

HIPPY (Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters) is an early childhood enrichment and parenting program for children and their parents/carers. The program is designed to make children ‘school ready’ and develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct role-playing sessions and deliver HIPPY materials to 10-15 families weekly, promoting engaging and educational activities within their homes or during group meetings.
  • Provide support and referral services, directing HIPPY families to the HIPPY Coordinator for additional assistance or support when needed.
  • Assist in the organisation and facilitation of parent group meetings, fostering a sense of community engagement and collaboration.

Prior participation with the HIPPY Program and its impact on your understanding is a prerequisite. If not applicable, describe your engagement as a parent in relevant activities within the last 12 months.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous working experience in Aboriginal Communities.
  • Experience working in community service organisation/s.
