About the organisation

We are creating a world where people live in harmony with nature. Join us. Because together, anything is possible.

WWF's global vision is to stop the degradation of the planet's natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. WWF-Australia is part of the WWF International Network, the world's leading, independent conservation organisation. We are active in over 100 countries and have close to 5 million supporters internationally. In Australia and throughout the oceanic region, we work with governments, businesses and communities so that people and nature can thrive within their fair share of the planet's natural resources.

WWF's mission is to halt the decline of threatened plants and animals and to support their recovery. We do this by addressing the threats that affect them using the best available science while working in partnership with communities, Indigenous groups, government and business. The world is changing fast. Our wildlife and wild places face unprecedented challenges. The result is people yearn more for nature and are connected with each other like never before. We know that we can achieve more by partnering, sharing, empowering communities, forming alliances and building a movement for the environment. Working together is the answer. It is our goal to bring about this unified voice for nature.

About the role

The Innovate to Regenerate program aims to support a nationwide transition to a regenerative economy, as part of WWF's Regenerate Australia campaign. It comes to life in three distinct projects:

  • Sharing the vision: The "Regenerating Australia" short film created by Regen Studios (Makers of 2040). The film asks the question, 'What would Australia look like by 2030 if we simply listened to the needs of its people?' It is based on a four-month interview process with Australians from all walks of life who shared their hopes and dreams for the country's future. Set on New Year's Eve of December 2029, the 17-minute short film takes the form of a news bulletin looking back at the decade 'that could be' and shares some of the most exciting, regenerative solutions that are now within our reach.
  • Distributive support network: Distributed film screenings, support workshops and bootcamps to connect and support communities and innovators who are inspired by the film to begin or grow their own regenerative solution.
  • Bringing the film to life: The Innovate to Regenerate Challenge - providing $2 million in seed funding to help local communities, innovators, and experts to 'bring the film to life' and establish innovative, regenerative solutions. Those who are inspired by the film's solutions and those who have their own creative ideas to Regenerate Australia will be invited to take part in the challenge to receive the funding and support they need.

The Regenerative Communities Project Manager coordinates the community engagement program for communities interested in participating in the program. The role engages with a range of stakeholders to understand community needs and capabilities and ensure that communities and challenge participants have access to the support available through the workshops, toolkits, challenge and fund. The Project Manager also supports data collection to help evaluate the impact of the program (in partnership with Behaviour Works Australia).
