About the Role

The role proactively fosters and manages relationships with international partners to enhance their financial operations, support partner capacity development, ensure compliance with financial regulations and network standards, and fulfil multifaceted donor requirements. The role leads the strategic financial planning, reporting processes, analysis and proactive mitigation of financial risks associated with international finance partnerships.

Key Accountabilities (Refer to PD for full list of Key Accountabilities)

  • Partner with WWF-International regional finance teams and relevant WWF Network Offices and Initiatives to provide capacity development support and financial / compliance training to ensure partners (including downstream partners) are strengthened and are equipped to comply with WWF-Australia grant conditions.
  • Support Conservation and Philanthropy and Development teams' program delivery by conducting technical reviews of international program/project budgets and reports to ensure alignment with WWF and Australian Government requirements and suitable levels of transparency.
  • Supported by the Head of Finance and Procurement, lead the strategic and operational oversight of international financial management, including developing and proposing risk mitigation strategies to the Executive (e.g. fraud & corruption risks, terrorism financing risk, exchange rate volatility risks).

Skills, Knowledge and Experience (Refer to PD for full list of Selection Criteria)

  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian Government grant and procurement requirements (e.g. DFAT Complex Grant Agreement terms & conditions, Commonwealth Grants Rules & Guidelines, Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and State Government equivalents).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting financial management and governance oversight of international development grants.
  • Highly developed partnership management, engagement and communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to communicate complex requirements in diverse linguistic and cultural contexts.
