A bit about the role

The position of Point Cook Library Coordinator is an exciting leadership role, responsible for the provision of a broad range of high-quality library services to the community. Point Cook Library is located in one of Wyndham’s Community Learning Centres, which also houses kinder, maternal and child health services, and a community centre. Your positive and professional approach will see you successfully lead the Point Cook Team and the operations of the library branch, work collaboratively with these co-located services, and ensure the delivery of quality frontline services in line with library policies and procedures.

This position leads a team of 20 staff on a day-to-day basis and is responsible for the rostering and operational management of the branch. You will have 11 direct reports comprising Library Customer Service Officers and Library Program Support Officers, and your supportive leadership will see you lead the team to successfully meet and achieve library service goals and objectives. Point Cook Library runs a number of community programs each day, and you will work closely with your colleagues in the Library Leadership Team to ensure the successful implementation of the programs timetable each term.

Working closely with other members of Library Operations Group, you will have an opportunity to work collaboratively to improve library processes and services across Wyndham Libraries covering a range of areas including customer service, branch collections, incident management, and staff professional development. You will prioritise health and safety, being actively involved in identifying, monitoring and responding to hazards and incidents that occur in the branch, and liaising with other teams in Council as needed to address and resolve any safety concerns.

Point Cook Library is a busy, dynamic environment, and your ability to problem solve on the fly and respond thoughtfully to challenging situations will be essential.
