Yarraville Community Centre (YCC) is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and a Learn Local provider. We deliver a broad range of services to individuals from diverse backgrounds, with a strong focus on supporting disadvantaged groups, families, youth, and newly arrived communities.
YCC provides accredited and pre-accredited education through Skills First funding, ACFE programs, and the AMEP and SEE programs for Learning for Employment (LfE) in Maribyrnong. We also run short courses, childcare services, a food relief program, and manage services across three sites in Yarraville and Footscray.

About the Role
As the Finance Officer at Yarraville Community Centre, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, including payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, and compliance. Your expertise will ensure the financial sustainability of the Centre, supporting our continued delivery of high-quality, accessible programs to the local community.
This is a permanent part-time position, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The role is offered at 22.5 hours per week across three days.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all financial administration in line with funding contracts and regulations.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets and provide regular financial reporting to the CEO and Committee.
- Process fortnightly payroll including PAYG, superannuation, and salary packaging arrangements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, BAS lodgements, and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and oversee monthly reconciliations and closing processes.
- Prepare financial documentation for the annual audit and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with employee Awards and government statutory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems and processes.
- Maintain and update the organisation’s asset register and insurance requirements.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
- At least 3 years’ experience in financial management or high-level bookkeeping, including payroll, month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in MYOB, HR/Payroll systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Sound understanding of salary packaging, GST administration, BAS preparation, and Award compliance.
- Proven ability to produce accurate financial reports and strategic financial advice.
- High level of organisational skills, confidentiality, and sound judgement.

- Experience working in the not-for-profit or community sector.
