Yarra Plenty Regional Library (YPRL) is seeking applications for the role of Independent Chairperson to lead the Audit & Risk Committee for an initial term of three years.

The Audit and Risk Committee (the Committee) is established in compliance with section 139 of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act) to support the YPRL Board in discharging its oversight responsibilities related to financial and performance reporting, risk management, fraud prevention systems and control, maintenance of a sound internal control environment, assurance activities including internal and external audit and YPRL’s performance with regard to compliance with its policies and legislative and regulatory requirements. Please refer to the Committee’s Charter for additional information.

Remuneration for the chairperson of the Committee is $1,300 (exc. GST) per meeting. This rate is inclusive of time spent on preparation for the meeting, travel time and travel expenses. The Audit and Risk Committee is expected to meet 4 times per year and meetings are in person or online dependent on availability.

As part of the expression of interest, applicants are required to provide evidence of a relevant degree or qualification and demonstrate experience in the fields of finance, risk, governance, audit and public sector management.
