  • Competitive salary starting from $56.10 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Clinical Immunisation Nurse Specialist to lead and support the delivery of high-quality immunisation services within the Yarra Ranges community.

This role is vital in coordinating immunisation programs that encompass childhood, school/adolescent, and corporate immunisations, ensuring best practice standards and compliance with legislative requirements, you will develop strategies for the promotion and development of the service, and for the professional development of immunisation nurses.

Reporting to the Maternal and Child Health Coordinator, you will collaborate with the Immunisation Program Officer to supervise, guide, and support the immunisation team, while also developing strategies for the promotion, delivery of service and the professional development of the team.

What you’ll bring to our team

  • Clinical expertise in immunisation, including knowledge of the Australian Immunisation Handbook, cold chain management, and vaccine administration protocols.
  • Proven experience in leading and supporting immunisation teams, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • Strong customer service focus, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with parents, guardians, and clients, addressing queries and providing pre- and post-immunisation advice.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to support the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, and an Immunisation Service Plan that aligns with Council’s goals and targets.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and excellent time management skills to ensure work is completed efficiently and high-quality service is maintained under pressure.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and health promotion, staying informed on the latest developments in immunisation practices and communicating these effectively to stakeholders and the community.
