Unison Housing

About Unison

Unison is a not-for-profit organisation that works to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion. We believe that affordable housing is the foundation on which to build a life of value but that a good life takes more than just housing. A good life takes place in a community. Unison also assists over 3,500 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness each year across Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, Geelong and Werribee.

The role

Our Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) Team make their impact by working directly with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to support them into housing. As an IAP Worker, you’ll be helping people by providing them with access to crisis and transitional housing, support, rentals and financial assistance.

If you are someone who is an empathetic and calm communicator, resilient and who people tend to look to in a crisis, we’d love to hear from you. You are driven to help others and have an ability to look beyond challenging words and behaviours to get to the root of a problem in a way that leaves people feeling supported and listened after their experience with Unison.

We have multiple casual roles available between our Werribee and Seddon offices working approximately 2-3 days a week and covering leave when required. You may be looking for a casual role for more work-life balance or to allow time to pursue other passions or studying. If you hold a certificate in Community Services or a knowledge of the social housing sector we want to hear from you.
