Team Leader - Place Management and Community Building

Unison Housing

About Unison

Unison is a for-purpose organisation that works to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion for over 3,500 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness each year. We believe that housing is the foundation on which to build a life of value but that a good life takes more than just housing - a good life takes place in a community. We’re also committed to building a thriving community internally for the people that work with us. We’re proud to offer contemporary people programs and benefits in line with our values, and we’re certified as a Great Place to Work.

About the role

The Kensington Team Leader (Place Management and Community Building) will lead their team of Place Managers to bring our high-quality tenancy services to life. You’ll do this by effectively leading the team by sharing your experience in housing/residential tenancy and proactive positive stakeholder relationships.

An equally important aspect of this role is to use your demonstrated community building skills to drive positive engagement amongst renters and create a sense of belonging in their community. This will include organising events, community consultation, community development or overseeing community building initiatives.

About you

You’ll have enthusiasm and positivity for building an inclusive team culture, and you’ll also have experience in community building that drives positive engagement, in an effective and respectful way to a broad range of people, including people with high support and challenging behaviour.

Based in our Kensington office, you will be required to travel as needed and require a valid Victorian Driving License.

On Offer

In return, you’ll have access to rostered days off, salary packaging of up to $15,900 tax-free, five weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, 15 days of personal leave, employer paid parental leave and robust wellbeing and capability programs as part of Unison’s commitment to being a leading employer of choice.

This is a full-time, fixed term position (until September 2026) under SCHADS Level 6 with a salary of approximately $106,000 per annum (plus super and leave loading).
