We are looking for Housing Specialists who are keen to develop their professional experience and skills. In these unique roles, you will be embedded in one of our families’ or youth teams to collaboratively deliver solutions for families or youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
This innovative model builds on YFS’ growing expertise in embedding specialist housing workers within our family support and youth teams. See our report on our Thriving Families Project to find out more about our work on service integration.
This support model requires excellent problem-solving skills, close collaboration with families’ and youth workers and property managers, and the ability to prioritise the needs of clients who often need immediate support.
You will support people not just to find housing, but to sustain tenancies and maintain stable homes. You’ll also build the capability of family and youth workers, as well as building your own knowledge and experience from a trauma-informed delivery perspective.
This is a rewarding role in which you will be both challenged and supported to grow as a housing specialist.
It’s no exaggeration to say that in this role you can really make a difference to people’s lives. You will be supporting people, not just to overcome crisis, but to thrive.
Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related role description available from https://www.yfs.org.au/work-for-us/, you’ll be a great fit if you:

We’re serious about your professional development. And we empower each other to make decisions and try new ways of working.
Depending on your role, we support flexible work arrangements.
We also offer great employment benefits including above-average pay rates, generous salary packaging (exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax), portable long service leave, counselling support and free parking.
