About the Aboriginal Health Manager role

The Aboriginal Health Manager will lead the Aboriginal Health Team while overseeing culturally appropriate health programs, building partnerships with ACCOs and government bodies, and developing new initiatives. They will ensure program quality, maintain accreditation, and drive continuous improvement. Reporting to the Executive Director, Community Partnerships, this is an ongoing, full-time role.

Your Passion and Commitment will see you:

  • Lead and manage the Aboriginal Health team to ensure high-quality, culturally safe service delivery.
  • Strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), peak bodies, and government departments to co-design and deliver programs.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to embed First Nations perspectives across policies, programs, and advocacy efforts.
  • Drive service development initiatives to improve accessibility, cultural responsiveness, and overall program quality.
  • Lead program accreditation, quality improvement processes, and compliance with funding and reporting requirements.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Qualification in Aboriginal Health, Community Development, Social Work, Health Promotion, or related field.
  • Ability to build relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities using a co-design approach.
  • Experience leading and managing Aboriginal services and programs.
  • Deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, societies, and kinship networks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
