your opportunity

The Financial Controller is responsible for the financial accounting, operations and financial compliance from a statutory accounting perspective. In addition, the role oversees the Art Union reconciliation, Art Union financial support, operational processing, asset management, and statutory taxation reporting and provides innovative financial management practice and process.

This role will include:

  • Manage statutory reporting and internal financial reporting.
  • Manage organisational financial transactional processing.
  • Develop and maintain all financial accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide support and advise non-finance staff on finance matters as required.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team through the promotion of a team culture that motivates and inspires professional conduct.

what we are looking for

  • CPA, CA, or equivalent registrations.
  • Degree qualification in accounting and a minimum of six years relevant accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current FBT and GST legislation and Accounting Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing statutory accounts and monthly management accounts including the explanation of variances to senior management.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvements of Finance processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and inspire diverse teams of professionals and coaching them to achieve excellence in their service offering.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills including a demonstrated ability to prepare reports for the public and presentations targeted to a wide audience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, across organisational levels and a variety of sectors.
  • Advanced experience and competence in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, and capability to learn new systems quickly.
