your opportunity

Based at Blacktown and working with the Virtual Services team, this role has responsibility for providing values-based leadership, line management and practice guidance to a team of Kids Helpline Counsellors, with a focus on achieving excellence in client support and outcomes in line with yourtown mission, vision, and values.

Your role will include:

  • Lead, coach and inspire an engaged and high performing team to achieve quality outcomes for clients
  • Role model and uphold yourtown values and behaviours
  • Nurture a healthy culture that contributes to a safe, cohesive and rewarding workplace
  • Foster continual team development and growth
  • Ensure direct reports meet or exceed set objectives, performance KPI targets and professional practice competencies
  • Collaborate with practitioners, shift supervisors, practice supervisors and the client, to achieve positive outcomes, client self-efficacy, wellbeing and safety
  • Support practitioners through non-urgent debriefing, case reviews, client safety discussions and regular meeting

what we are looking for

You will bring:

  • passion, commitment and belief in young people
  • tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years practice experience
  • ability to work flexible hours between 7am – 8pm Mon – Fri to align with and support team members
  • demonstrated leadership abilities to lead, manage, support and coach an effective team to achieve performance and organisational objectives and KPI’s
  • demonstrated ability to apply organisational values and behaviours in a leadership role
  • demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in the application of effective counselling models, processes, theories and techniques and the ability to apply this to client management processes with due regard for ethical and legal responsibilities
  • knowledge and understanding of relevant ethical standards, legislation and mandatory reporting requirements at a state and national level
  • high level communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships to achieve successful outcomes
  • high level computer literacy and demonstrated knowledge in delivering digital mental health interventions
  • demonstrated capacity to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • ability to demonstrate a strong awareness of the impact of working in a complex and demanding role and utilise effective strategies to support practitioner and own wellbeing
