Job description

  • Responsible to: Communications Lead
  • Key relationships: Zoe Daniel MP, Campaign Manager, Field Manager, Chief of Staff, and other members of staff and campaign volunteers.
  • Location: Hampton, Melbourne
  • Employment Basis: Full-time on a monthly consultancy basis
  • Salary: $6.5k per month
  • Start date: Immediate start

About You

You enjoy creating highly engaging content to deliver a communications strategy. You understand the importance of every part of the content creation process, from pitching concepts to evaluating the impact of your work.

You care about politics, understand the news cycle, and have experience in harnessing reactive opportunities. Your strong working knowledge of best-practice for content delivery on social media platforms will make you a valuable member of the Zoe Daniel re-election campaign.

You have video editing and production skills, and confidence in simple graphic design that adheres to brand guidelines. You welcome the opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing skills.

Your work is well-organised and you are able to work across multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities. You enjoy being part of a team and collaborating with others.

About the role

  • Ideate, pitch and develop engaging content that promotes Zoe’s policy pillars, achievements and activities.
  • Write copy, design visuals and create video content that drives engagement on Zoe’s social media channels and website, and via email and SMS.
  • Monitor performance of content across channels and use lessons to contribute to improving Zoe’s content strategies and schedule.
  • Research and test new digital engagement tactics, trends and methods to help refine Zoe’s communications and marketing strategies.
  • Be a champion for Zoe’s brand and messaging, ensuring content across channels is consistent and aligned.
  • Coordinate content gathering, storage and production across Zoe’s team.
  • Help coordinate the content schedule across platforms.
  • Contribute to improving audience targeting, message testing and data management.
  • Attend key events to capture and broadcast content.
  • Assist with content moderation on social media channels and help ensure comments on Zoe’s social media accounts maintain online safety and wellbeing standards.
  • Assist with reactive communication moments.
