Zonta House Refuge Association (Zonta House) is a specialist provider of family and domestic violence (FDV) services. Our purpose, values, and services have been informed through 38 years of experience, the needs of women in our community, and research in leading practice.

Zonta House provides a suite of services for women experiencing FDV that reinforce one another and represent the core of Zonta House’s work. That is, when women's voices are heard, our responses uphold dignity, build on safety, and challenge the drivers of abuse. Victims / Survivors of FDV are able to access responsive and person-centred support based on their needs to build a future free from abuse.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced professional to deliver our Future Employment Connections (FEC) Program. FEC provides interim support, recovery, and skill-building for reengaging with education and employment opportunities. The program supports women’s overall goal of increasing economic independence after experiencing FDV.

Through a tailored and comprehensive plan, you will support women to set and achieve their personal goals, increase their self-esteem, and build on their quality of life. You will provide practical assistance through the development and facilitation of job-ready related workshops, support women in identifying and exploring their desired employment and education outcomes and build upon the program's relationships to secure pathways to study, employment, work experience, and volunteering opportunities.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide individualised support to women based on their needs and requests with a focus on education, volunteering, and employment goals
  • Develop and coordinate an education program calendar of events
  • Facilitate community awareness presentations
  • Facilitate warm referrals to external services
  • Work collaboratively with partner organisations
  • Maintain case files and other records, ensuring confidentiality
  • This is a part-time position, working 3 days a week and on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2024. This position will be based at our Bentley office with some traveling required around the Perth Metropolitan area.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications in Community Services, Mental Health, Social Sciences, or Social Work; or extensive experience in community service, job network, or employment services.
  • Comprehensive experience working with women who have experienced family and/or domestic violence.
  • Experience in establishing partnerships and referral pathways including but not limited to employment, volunteering, and education opportunities.
  • An ability to provide holistic support using a Person-Centered or Strengths Based Therapy Approach.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of adhering to organisational contractual obligations including, an outcomes-based model and client measurement tools.
  • Experience working within a Case Management framework and developing and reviewing support plans.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the appropriate relationship boundaries with clients and other service providers and the ability to work within the constraints of the job role.
  • Experience working in an outreach setting in a multidisciplinary team (desirable)

The successful candidate will need to provide:

  • A valid motor vehicle driver's license with good driving records.
  • National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Working with Children Check
