Child Development Worker - Latrobe Valley

54 Reasons - Save the Children

54 reasons runs a portfolio of early childhood, family and youth programs across the Latrobe Valley region teams to support vulnerable families and children to reach their full potential. We need you to join our passionate team, to give these children a chance to thrive.

54 reasons is Australia's leading child rights organisation - no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we're here to make sure that everyone understands their rights. So that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

We champion the children, young people and families we work with. We are inspired by the curiosity and creativity of children and motivated by the love of those who care for them.

With the child's voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve - in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.

Does this sound like you?

You're passionate about working with children and parents and making a difference in their lives. Your sensitivity and community knowledge will see you build strong connections with families from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You're motivated, eager to learn and not afraid to jump in feet first to help make our programs successful.

This role requires:

  • Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent qualification would be desirable
  • Knowledge of child and family issues and a proven understanding of child development stages and influences
  • Experience working with CALD families
