We have a Community Engagement Worker position available to work in Armadale and surrounding suburbs within our Primary Prevention Family Safety Role for CaLD communities. Empowering communities and families to access services and activities that promote safety and well-being and being pivotal in connection to culturally appropriate resources and services that promote safety, well-being, recreation, creativity, and cultural involvement.

54 Reasons is a well-known provider in the Armadale community and this role will provide another avenue for trusting relationships to be built with families to break down the barriers to family safety. We are looking for someone that has excellent communication skills, an understanding of culturally accepted practices in CaLD or ATSI families and communities and a knowledge of local community services or resources.

In this full time, maximum term role (approximately 12 months), you'll work as a part of our CaLD Family Safety team in Armadale to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. The Community Engagement Worker plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether it's coordinating activities, communicating about emerging issues in community or identifying family needs for safety, well-being, recreation, creativity and community participation, you'll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.

You will make a difference by:

  • Build rapport with community members despite barriers
  • Empower community members to have a voice
  • Co-ordinate activities to bring families and communities together
  • Provide opportunity for 54 Reasons staff to engage families in non-clinical settings
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date records
  • Participate in training to build skills and competence in the role

  • Having up to date drivers licence, WWCC and police clearance

  • Maintain a child safe environment in the workplace and safeguard children's rights
  • Respond to any concerns for the safety and well-being of a child in a program in accordance with internal reporting processes
  • Demonstrate highest standards of behaviour towards children in your private and professional life
