About the role:

As the Senior Clinician Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing advanced social work services to referred patients and families across General Medicine (primary location).

A regular day will see you work clinically with patients and undertake a range of senior duties that support the social work department operations and help progress the department's key strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities will see you:

  • Apply your specialist knowledge to assess, treat and plan the discharge of referred patients
  • Provide counselling services to patients and families
  • Clinically lead and supervise staff
  • Provide expert advice and secondary consultation within the clinical area, within social work department and other areas as required
  • Undertake other senior duties such as quality improvement, research and teaching

You must have:

  • A degree in Social Work

Ideally you'll have:

  • Previously worked in a hospital setting
  • An ability to work autonomously, in a multi-disciplinary environment
