The Role

We are looking to expand our team with the addition of Housing Managers in the Brookvale office.

The Housing Manager works within the wider Customer and Communities teams and is responsible for a portfolio of properties within a specific area we work within. Within that portfolio, the Housing Manager will be responsible for providing excellent customer service within the areas of housing, tenancy and property management services. You will also connect your tenants with support providers and communities to assist holistic health and wellbeing.

The priority for all Housing Managers is tenant satisfaction and sustainment, and upholding our values in every step and action.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Working to the Customer Service Charter and Housing policies and procedures
  • Responding to tenant enquiries, complaints, and grievances
  • Managing appeals processes and tribunal representation
  • Sustain tenancies and high-level tenant satisfactions
  • Conducting regular property inspections and reporting any repairs and maintenance issues
  • Work with support coordinators and support providers to ensure holistic wellbeing
  • Financial management including: rent, arrears management, tenant deb, voids and vacancies, bonds and recharges
  • Building and maintaining relationships with tenants, support providers, and communities to create sustainable communities
  • Administrative duties are actioned in a timely manner within the SDM software and other relevant IT systems

Our Housing Managers have versatile skills and backgrounds including…

  • in property and/or tenancy management
  • working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • working with social housing and residential tenancy management
  • managing arrears processes
  • Certificate in Social Housing or Real Estate certificate of registration
  • Knowledge of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) procedures
  • community engagement and trauma-informed practice

Our Housing Managers do need to have a current and valid drivers license in order to conduct a primary objective of the role (property inspections, which are at least one day's work per week). They also need to be willing to obtain a Criminal Record Check.
