C31 is building towards a digital future with the impending launch of a suite of online assets including VOD service, dedicated app and live streams of sports events and festivals. C31 will maintain its “Free to Air” broadcast platform until at least June 30, 2024.

This position is responsible for sourcing and maintaining sponsorship for C31, offering both free to air and online advertising solutions. In addition, this role will be tasked with selling C31's in-house production services, which include our Community Builder initiative, and participation in the suite of C31 Originals programs.

The Production & Sponsorship Sales Account Manager will, through their initiative and drive, build their own strong client base to develop long term sustainable relationships with business sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing new prospective clients and building a client base.
• Using direct sales techniques, predominately over the phone, to obtain new sponsors. Occasional client visits may be required.
• Managing client accounts to sustain long term relationships and ensure repeat business.
• In conjunction with the Operations Manager, develop long term marketing plans and initiatives in support of C31’s digital strategy.
• Collaborate with the Head of Production around upcoming programs, content opportunities, livestream initiatives and other production services that are available to be sold.
• Follow up clients for payments.
• Provide a detailed handover to the Production Team.
• Provide oversight of the production process to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met.
• Provide input into broadcast scheduling.

Qualifications

• Sales training would be advantageous but not essential.
• Formal sales qualifications, eg. Certificate or Diploma would be beneficial but not essential.

Experience

• Some experience in sales and marketing
• Telephone sales or telephone customer service experience
• Experience or knowledge in digital advertising beneficial.
• TV & Screen Production experience. A bonus if experience extends to line-production.

Remuneration Summary

• $70k retainer salary + super
• Commission paid, 10% of cash paid above $5000 (monthly) for first three months.
• Commission paid, 10% of cash paid above $10000 (monthly) after first three months.
• Commission uncapped – highest income in 2020/21 $90k+

C31 Melbourne and Geelong is Victoria's not-for-profit community television service providing locally based entertainment, education, and information. C31 provides access and representation to the many diverse communities within Victoria. You can find faces, voices and issues which are not present in mainstream television.

We broadcast over 90 new locally made programs every week. These programs are produced by community television volunteers and independent television makers.

The Community Television Sector in Australia is vibrant and diverse, with television stations in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
