About the Role

The Information Technology (IT) Officer provides IT Service Desk support and assistance to CARE Australia staff, under the supervision of the Head of Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on a range of information technology related subjects to staff, including successful resolution of both hardware and software issues.
  • Install, maintain and support desktop computers, notebooks, printers and associated peripherals.
  • Local Area Network administration, within an Active Directory and Google Workspace Enterprise.
  • Manage Helpdesk tickets, planning and prioritising systematically to minimise backlog and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Monitor performance of the systems, ensuring issues are appropriately escalated and resolved
  • Co-ordinate and recommend policies for the development and maintenance of computer systems.

Ideally you will have:

  • Good time management, communication, analytical and problem solving skills as well as having a broad general understanding of technologies and their application to business.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, configure and support desktop/notebook hardware, software and network connections.
  • Understand LAN/WAN principles and technologies.
  • Good technical knowledge of Google Workspace Enterprise/Office 365 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 - 2016 and Active Directory, and experience in supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 2016.
  • Experience in the use of remote access tools.
  • Capable of lifting & relocating computers and printers.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to challenges, to work effectively in a small, diverse and busy team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to create and foster collaborative and productive relationship with internal clients and external organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to developing and fostering a high level of customer service that meet the needs of a diverse range of clients and customers.
