Community Based Support (CBS) is a not-for-profit Tasmanian organisation delivering aged care and disability services to enable people to live safely in their homes and enjoy access to the community as they wish. Our work ensures quality of life is enhanced by providing a range of support services that are tailored to meet individual needs and goals to maximise independence.

Roles are based in Kingston/Huon, Eastern Shore, and Hobart and Northern Suburbs areas. 

We are supporting a number of Aged Care and Disability clients across Southern Tasmania, and are recruiting for experienced and passionate Community Support Workers to provide flexible, person-centred support to our clients in their own homes.

About you:

As a Community Support Worker, you will assist our clients with:

  • Domestic duties such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins fridges and freezers, as indicated in the clients care plan
  • Washing clothing including hanging out to dry, folding and ironing of clothes
  • Changing of bed linen as required
  • Assisting with showering, bathing, medications, eating, toileting, grooming and any personal care needs as identified in their Care Plan
  • Assist the client with community access as identified on the clients care plan

What you must have:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or other relevant qualification;
  • A current full Tasmanian C class manual drivers license, and your own reliable transport;
  • Fully Covid-19 vaccinated and influenza vaccination upon start date;
  • Current satisfactory National Police check (within the last 3 months) and Working with Vulnerable People registration;
  • Your own smart mobile phone with a calls and data plan;
  • A current First Aid certificate (or the ability to acquire);
  • Medically fit and physically suited for the full inherent requirements of the job; and
  • HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication (desirable).
