The Collieries' Staff and Officials Association is a Division of Professionals Australia (formerly APESMA) and represents staff employed in the coal mining industry. We aim to make a positive difference to our members’ working lives. We work in a targeted, planned way to deliver results for our members.

The Association is looking for a Trainee Position to join our Team based in our Sydney or Brisbane office.

The position is ideal for candidates currently undertaking or completing university study and seeking part-time employment. The union is supportive and willing to work with the successful applicant around university commitments. The successful applicant the opportunity to get directly involved within the union movement in a fast paced industry.

As a trainee, you will also be exposed to union campaigning/organising, planning, communications, industrial law, and member engagement. The role will be diverse and will offer the opportunity to engage across a multitude of interest areas. There will be no expectations on prior knowledge, the union is willing to invest in training and development for the ideal candidate. Most importantly, you will be contributing to a motivated team of union officials and work directly with workers within a unique and challenging industry.
