Remote / Work from Home
Candella is a non-profit mental health organisation providing recovery-oriented services in Melbourne and Sydney through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Candella is a supportive and innovative place to work. We offer employees meaningful and challenging work along with flexible working arrangements. We have a strong culture of continuous improvement, and we regularly seek out and act on feedback from employees about how we might improve.
Here is some feedback from our most recent staff survey (February 2021) which describes the kind of workplace we are striving to create:
“I feel a strong sense of values in Candella that is part of my interactions with colleagues, my team leader, and other operational and senior leadership staff I interact with. I feel like people genuinely listen, care, wish to support me and are open to open conversations.”
“Well supported, a company with best practice as one of its goals, staff are valued, customers get the best service, progressive, inclusive, not for profit.”
“This is the best organisation I have ever worked for. The team leaders, management and staff are driven by their values to create a culture that is positive. I feel proud to work for an organisation that is inclusive of all and promotes ongoing learning and development.”
Candella has no physical offices. Our employees work from home and in local community settings. We stay connected through our online communication system and occasional in-person meetings.
We believe that diversity makes us better. We strongly encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including people with a lived experience of mental health challenges.
At Candella, we turn up to work each day so that the people who access our services will end up with a better quality of life: more independent, more socially connected, healthier, happier, and with a greater sense of optimism and self-belief.
We believe that all people have the right to set their own direction in life, and we give them the space to make progress on their own terms, in their own way, at their own pace. We are not here to fix people, or change them, or tell them what to do. We are here to help them on their way, whichever way that is.
As a recovery coach, you will work closely with 10 to 20 people who are supported by the NDIS and living with a psychosocial disability. With each person, you will:
The recovery coach position is a casual position with flexible working hours. You have the autonomy to set your own roster to suit your personal circumstances, so long as the people you are working with are receiving reliable and high-quality support that makes effective use of their NDIS funding.
To become a recovery coach at Candella, you will need:
It will be an advantage if you have:
We strongly encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including people with a lived experience of mental health challenges.
