About the Role

Carers Queensland is looking for an experienced, passionate, and qualified Trainer & Assessor to train and assess both the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing/Disability) and Certificate IV in Community Services and Diploma in Community Services.

As a trainer you will take a lead role in providing high quality training with our students. You will deliver the training online via Zoom in 2-hour tutorials to students with some face-to-face delivery within a training room in Brisbane (various locations dependant on demand). Our trainers are responsible to deliver and assess students according to the session plan, submit complete student assessments daily and participate in validation activities.

Experience with facilitating training in flexible delivery modes is highly regarded. In addition, we require a skilled and experienced trainer to assist with reviewing our learning resources and conduct validation and additional development of resources and assessment tools as required. Trainers must be aware of necessary procedures to meet various regulatory requirements required by ASQA and AQF.

You will be based at our Lutwyche office.

Key Duties

  • Deliver training and assessment services via Zoom and in a face to face capacity (as required) – including evening classes [as required]
  • Conduct support sessions with students and regularly contact student cohort to provide support and feedback to all students to ensure successful completion of study
  • Monitor, mark and conduct student assessments
  • Conduct site visits with students on vocational placement to provide support and conduct student assessments where applicable
  • Plan, review and improve training and assessment materials, including participating in assessment validation/moderation for continuous improvement
  • Engage with students on digital applications and log all student contact on Student Management System
  • Assist in the undertaking of Recognition of Prior Learning processes where applicable
  • Have current knowledge of the VET industry and standards
  • Participate in regular VET sector and industry professional development

Do you have?

  • TAE40116 or its successor qualification in VET sector
  • Certificate III in Individual Support; Certificate IV or Diploma of Community Services
  • At least 2 years relevant industry working experience
  • Evidence of industry currency
  • Holding the FSK20119 (Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways) will be highly regarded
