The Position:

We are in an exciting period of growth and this role offers a great opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s future success. As part of this growth the Finance Team has a newly created opportunity to join them as a Finance Officer - Asset and Procurement. The role will report directly to the CFO and will be based at the Head Office in West End.

The role will be responsible for a range of administrative and operational related asset and procurement activities, fleet management and project management tasks, all with an aim to drive cost reduction, standardisation and compliance, thereby supporting the department’s ability to achieve its strategic and operational goals. As part of the role you will need to establish systems and processes to support centralised purchasing and inventory management, source products and consolidate supplies to achieve value for money.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Asset Registers for all divisions of ECCQ including vehicles, ICT equipment, furniture and fittings and other capital items.
  • In collaboration with the CFO develop and implement an asset and fleet management plan.
    Develop, implement and manage fleet policies, processes, budgets, plans and financial controls for all divisions of ECCQ.
  • Identifying the most suitable supplier/contractor to facilitate the ordering of equipment, consumables and services.
  • Implement processes for dealing with suppliers and contractors to ensure performance is maintained at high levels and over servicing and or overcharging are prevented.
  • Assist with the annual insurance review and timely lodgement and follow up of insurance claims.
  • Undertake records management including the storage, retention and destruction of records.
  • Undertake property management, including office accommodation, new leases/renewals, maintenance, signage and key registers.
  • Assist as required with project management tasks related to the redevelopment of the Berlasco Court residential aged care facility.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience and ability to handle procurement related activities with demonstrated commitment to quality service to internal customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage assets within a community based organisation, including the ability to develop and implement policies, processes and high quality systems.
  • Knowledge of fleet management processes.
  • Ability to improve procurement processes and contribute to systems development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as prioritise and multitask in order to meet operational deadlines.
  • Comprehensive interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and develop and maintain effective workplace relationships.
  • Proficiency in the use of desktop applications, such as MS Office and the ability to learn to use other IT Management systems.

Other requirements:

  • Current Australian Driver's License
  • Currently hold, or be eligible to obtain a National Police Check.
  • Be an Australia citizen or permanent resident.
