This project is funded by Manningham Council and is in partnership with Manningham Youth Services and Gateway Local Learning and Employment Network (L LEN.) The project will run from March-September 2021.

The Manningham Youth Employment Pathways Project (MYEPP) Officer under the supervision of Manningham Volunteer Resource Services [MVRS] will work in partnership with Manningham Youth Services and Gateway LLEN to oversee the delivery of school-based employment education programs and be responsible for connecting young people in a number of short-term volunteer placement roles. Building on existing networks, the MYEPP Project Officer will be responsible for building relationships with community organisations, businesses and young people, to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

The program is intended to offer rich opportunities both for youth participants and for participating organisations. The program will empower youth to feel job-ready; and offer opportunities for learning, skill development and experience in the workforce; as well as giving community organisations and businesses an opportunity to invest in youth volunteering.

This program will foster health and wellbeing benefits for all parties, through promoting increased engagement, social connection and forming of ongoing partnerships. This role is a dynamic opportunity that would suit someone who has a passion for youth, volunteering and/or community development, and is comfortable working with competing deadlines.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in any of the following areas volunteering, social work, community development, small project management, stakeholder engagement or a similar area
  • Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships across organisations and in the community with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds including youth and volunteers
  • A demonstrated ability to meet targets, reporting requirements and deadlines
  • Well-developed time management, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and accurately convey information, negotiate conflict and resolve day-to-day problems
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative and responsibility with a minimum of supervision
  • Intermediate word processing and Microsoft Office skills
  • A strong grasp of social media applications, Mail Chimp and Survey Monkey
  • Ability to contribute to the development of written resources, guidelines and information for both young people and organisations
  • Experience coordinating a project budget
  • Have an adaptable attitude toward working across multiple sites as this role will require the successful applicant to often be visiting various placement sites
