Applications are sought from suitably qualified individuals to join the headspace Echuca team as the Community Engagement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, vibrant and enthusiastic person who wants to help shape the headspace services through engagement with the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engagement with the community to promote the services of the headspace Echuca,
  • Developing and maintaining both the Youth and Family and Friends Reference Groups to help inform the headspace model,
  • Ensuring that accessible information is provided to young people, their families and the local community to increase the capacity of young people and their community to connect with appropriate health and wellbeing supports at the time they are needed.
  • Assist with warm referral pathways and provide soft entry engagement to headspace services, encouraging early help seeking behaviours.

Our team requires someone who has:

  • Qualifications in Health Promotion, Community Development, Social/Behavioural Science, Social Work/Planning or a related discipline
  • Knowledge and experience in community engagement and youth advocacy particularly as it relates to diverse groups
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and evaluating events and health promotion activities
  • Proven excellence in the use of social media as a communication tool

This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment.
